Home sweet Home - on wheels

BEFORE

AFTER

It met our criteria...

  • 4WD for when we go to Gina and Walt's Beach
  • Extra row of seats in the back so we can pick up people from the airport (hint MOM!)
  • Fabric seats for Missy so she doesn't burn her legs in the summer (Kim is still mourning the loss of our leather seats)
  • Power steering for the long drives
  • Fold down seats so we can do our Costco shopping (Kim buys enough so we have a mini Costco at home - and he wasn't even born during the depression)
  • Tall middle seats so Sarah can see things just like we do
  • Climate control was a bonus - no more of conversations like this: Me: "Babe, can you turn the heat on, I'm cold." Kim: "The heat is on" Me: "I can't feel it, can you turn it on more?" Kim: Babe, it's broke, I told you to bring a jacket, you never listen to me." Me: "I didn't know it would get this cold. Can we get the heater fixed?" Kim: "We did get the heater fixed, it's not blowing cold air anymore." Me: "Isn't it suppose to blow warm air?" Kim: "That would cost another $500." Me: "Can I wear your jacket?" Kim: "Woman, you drive me nuts. I love you. AND you drive me nuts."
  • And last, but not least... it has the button thingies on the steering wheel

We like it a lot. It's nice to have our home on wheels again - pretty funny how quickly we moved in. Already Sarah has her car blanket, a book, snackie wrappers, and two of her music CD's in the car. I already have receipts from coffee, Kim has adjusted all seats to his liking, and Harmony is... much neater than the rest of us.

It does look a little like a secret service vehicle so I still need to go to the 99cent store and get 7 pairs of black shades so we always have them on hand for people that get in the car. That, and everyone must hold one hand to their head with a finger on their ear... and say something like this: "Yes, he's in sight, we have secured the area."

Next up - house fixin'.

What is it? I can't tell. Envoy or Tahoe? it doesn't look long enough to be a surburban.
